The sequel to the free hit Windows FPS game that deals in stealth military tactics, huge firefights, and tons of weapons and action

An Overview of IGI 2: Covert Strike Single-Player Demo

Fans of first-person shooters know more than anyone that the market for these games is currently completely saturated. Every type of FPS from small mobile games to huge MMOs for your consoles and computers are available for gaming fans. That's why it's refreshing to find an FPS that's as unique as IGI 2: Covert Strike Single-Player for the PC.

Developed by CodeMasters, Covert Strike is a sequel to their hit IGI, “I'm Going In,” first release. One of the best aspects about this game series is that they're free for Windows users, with no hidden charges for any micro-transactions to get better weapons or to unlock levels. What you see is what you get. Though they also stand out because they offer stealth, tactical single-player campaigns in a world of free-for-all battle royale-type combat games.

There's nothing really fancy about this game that would require users to have a high-end gaming PC to play it. It would serve you much better if you had a dedicated GPU and at least 6GB of RAM, for a great experience, but you can play the game just fine on computers that aren't that powerful.

What IGI 2: Covert Strike Single-Player Demo Is and What It Does

This is an FPS game that is really created in a no-frills fashion. It follows an ex-military hero named David Jones, as he is tasked in preventing worldwide disaster by stopping a group of terrorists. The game is a very well balanced FPS in that it has equal parts stealth and strategy, mixed with some shoot-'em-up, big-bang action. So everyone gets a little something they like.

Like the first release of the game, there's not much replay value with the single-player campaign, because the missions are so linear that there's nothing new to discover. Though for a free game, it really does pack in the action.

Features of IGI 2: Covert Strike Single-Player Demo

One of the first features that players will notice with IGI 2: Covert Strike Single-Player is that there are even more missions, about 30% more levels, up to 19 in total. Like the first game, they're set in a realistic world with modern weapons and fairly decent human CGI, though the AI of NPCs is really not that great.

For weapons, you can get over 30 different guns, a variety of surveillance equipment, various explosives, and much more. This feature set allows players to just go wild and get into firefights, or they can really tame it down and accomplish their objectives without being seen. It's a nice change of pace with an FPS.
